About the action

Presentation of the CEN

For over 45 years, the Conservatoires d’espaces naturels have been protecting and enhancing natural and landscape heritage through collaborative regional projects. They manage 4,100 natural spaces, more than 1,600 of which are open to the public, welcoming 6 million visitors each year. These 23 non-profit associations bring together 1,100 employees, thousands of members and volunteers to preserve 270,000 hectares, representing more than one in eight communes in France, with a common goal: "Acting for nature in the regions."

The Fédération des Conservatoires d’espaces naturels supports and coordinates the efforts of its members by leading programs such as the Pôle-relais Tourbières, the national action plan for Chiroptera, or LIFE NaturArmy. It is also involved in themes such as the Loire and Rhône rivers, invasive exotic species, or real environmental obligations (ORE), thus strengthening on-the-ground actions.

Project Presentation

For this 5th edition of the activity booklets, the chosen theme is water! This new booklet is aimed at children aged 8 to 12 and their families.

This theme is approached through the original concept of the states of water, which will highlight, in each chapter, emblematic environments and species, as well as Conservatoires actions. We have thus explored visible water / hidden water, liquid water / solid (frozen) water, salty water / fresh water, stagnant water / flowing water, sparkling water, in short, water in all its states. The illustrator - Roxanne Bee - is very inspired, proposing to play with the "texture" of the pages (wet effect, cloudy, etc.).

Water is an essential element for life on Earth. We also use it in our daily lives. Therefore, it is important to know how to use and preserve this resource correctly.
