Who are we?

Humans in love with nature!

A small family business based in Corrèze

Ecomail is a small family business based in Corrèze. We created Ecomail as a family with each person having their role within the company.

Clio Herbert is in charge of relations with the associations we support, as well as social networks. She will evaluate each funding request and ensure that the funded project aligns with our values and what we wish to finance. She will also inform the community of users about the various feedback we receive from the associations. In terms of degrees and experience, Clio holds a master's degree in ecology and has completed numerous volunteer activities within biodiversity protection associations.

Nathan Herbert is responsible for the technical management of the service, technical support, and its development. He ensures that our infrastructure operates properly, adapts it as needed, and is in charge of developing new features or improving existing ones. He also handles the representation of Ecomail with the press and various partners. Nathan has an Associate Degree in IT and extensive experience in web hosting companies (websites, infrastructures...). He is also a web developer and system administrator.

How was Ecomail born?

Nathan: It was after watching a report on digital pollution that the idea for Ecomail was born. Indeed, for some time now, I had been wondering how to give my profession, computing, a more interesting purpose more in line with my environmental principles. I then wondered what we use every day. I saw there something to do to put computing at the service of ecology. Quickly, I set up Ecomail and its concept: donating 30 to 50% of the revenue generated to associations that act on the ground for ecology. Today, I am very happy to make very regular donations to environmental associations that need them. Together, we are putting computing at the service of ecology.

Our values and our actions

Be the change you want to see in the world. We too try to apply this mantra to ourselves. Thus, both personally and professionally, we constantly strive to improve ourselves and minimize our environmental footprint.

  • We seek to prove everything we claim. Donation proofs are visible on our site, and the revenue is displayed in real-time on our user interface.
  • We work remotely, no unnecessary travel! Never by plane.
  • For meals, we buy in bulk and organic as much as possible. Let's limit our waste. Besides, the compost is getting more and more beautiful!
  • Around the offices, we have a wasteland. Biodiversity thrives there, and we love it!
  • We use an eco-responsible mobile operator (Ecomtel).
  • We almost never print, only when it's really necessary.
  • Our computers are over 7 years old. We will only replace them if it is necessary for our work.
  • Our phones are between 2 and 5 years old, we intend to keep them as long as possible.
  • We donate a significant portion of our proceeds to organizations that work for the environment.

Being a mission-driven company also means having the mission to do your best. Together, we are convinced that it is possible to achieve this.
