Ékorrigans

Ékorrigans, a young association nearly a year old based in Roscoff (Finistère - Brittany), aims to promote ecology in everyday life through the sharing of knowledge and know-how. This intergenerational, citizen, and solidarity-driven association seeks to foster social ties and raise awareness about respect and protection of the environment and living beings through various sources of reflection and actions, by way of exchanges and events.

The objective of the Ékorrigans association is to create a mini-forest in the commune of Roscoff (the association's home town). This project will be realized using the Miyawaki method, which aims to promote local species with dense planting (3 trees per square meter) on a piece of land. A planting of 800 plants is planned for November 2021. The association is already in contact with "Graine de Bocage," a specialist in organic and local plants from the Brittany region.

The commune of Roscoff is providing the land and the collaboration of its green space service and their equipment. The association must supply the plants, materials for soil amendment, and fencing for the first two years.

Reforesting this area will make the communal land accessible so that everyone can get involved by participating in the planting of the mini-forest and following its evolution. The land can also serve as an educational tool for nearby schools, located 15 minutes away on foot, using the dedicated educational space to be set up on the land. Thus, a convention will be established between the association and the town hall to ensure the longevity of the site.

In the long term, after planting the mini-forest in the commune of Roscoff, the Ékorrigans association wishes to present their project to the various municipalities of the "Haut Léon Communauté" community of communes (14 communes in total) and thus plant other mini-forests!
